In procedures that can be performed with local anesthesia, sedative drugs are administered intravenously by the anesthesiologist or sedative gases are administered through breathing in order to ensure that the patient is comfortable and tolerates the procedure more easily, and the patient’s consciousness remains open and verbal communication can be continued, giving only a mild feeling of intoxication and relaxation.
Sedation is a type of anesthesia and is a controlled sleep state applied to ensure that the patient remains both comfortable and conscious during the medical procedure to be performed. Treatments performed by applying conscious sedation provide comfort for the patient and allow the doctor to complete the treatment process more comfortably.
